….I still prefer my seats over the one on press row, but, man, what a day to play reporter!
Nice to see that humble old Altraps scooped a lot of the majors yesterday in outing the trash talkers. Chris didn’t want to talk about it much at practice today, but you have to think/know he was pissed. You could see and feel it. I’m guessing the fact they smiled back at Lebron after the game didn’t exactly, um, help. If you want another scoop: Humph apologized to the team for yapping it up. Juan didn’t, but Humph was far and away the player to blame.
It seems the last few games have some looking at an early playoff exit (if they even make it). It does continue to amaze me that many people point out the faults of this team on the floor, and have done so now for almost a season and a half, and nothing is done.
Big talk in Cleveland about getting Mike Bibby, who still has yet to play a game this year. Admittedly, though, it would be sweet watching him feed the King. However, after yesterdays display, I’m not sure Lebron needs anybody.
Rafer has improved in Houston, upping his drive conversion to 59% from 49%. Maybe while TJ is on the sidlines licking his wounds, he should study some Rafer.
Seems talk in the Pistons locker room about Tracy McGrady has him being compared to Vince Carter in not the best of lights.
Looks like we could possibly see the Glove come home to Golden State. Down the road, all is not well in Clipperville. Talk around Seattle moving will also be relevant around the trade deadline. With two trade exceptions garnered from offseason deals, Seattle can help teams over the salary cap complete deals or it can assist teams interested in shedding payroll to avoid paying the luxury tax.
Carmelo Anthony is in second place amongst forwards in the west in AllStar voting. If he starts, he will be the first Nugget to start in an AllStar game since……Alex English in ‘89.
Speaking of AllStars currently residing in Toronto, we were referred to as "idiots" by some here when we thought that Bosh making that video was all about getting votes. Can’t be, we were told. Even Bosh knows he can’t catch Lebron and KG. Well, guess nobody told him. We are still awaiting a response from said accusers, but I hear eating crow is tough, especially while planning a wedding and surfing the net while you are supposed to be working.
Another Bosh tidbit: seems the NBA website ignores Canada too since they link to March 2007 articles rather than current ones. However, one article they link to has a snippet asking Bosh why the Raptors were so good at the time. I think his answer should be looked at again during the next video session. If they did this again this year, they might actually win a winnable game.
