It’s a pretty meaningless move, but the Raptors gave qualifying offers to Jose and Carlos today. In bigger news, my grass continues to grow.

All you TMac haters must have loved today. It was like an all-you-can-hate buffet! First you have Clyde Drexler calling him, and I paraphrase, a ballhogging egotistical bastard who just cares about himself and could give a ratshit about his teammates, unlike, say, Clyde Drexler. Then, in the lovely hamlet of Bradenton, a lady is trying to figure out how to get by with only $54,156 a year in child support from Tracy. She was looking for $204,000. Her name is Pearl. (dramatic pause). The judge thinks she was asking for that much to further her “personal lifestyle”. Oh, Pearl. That said, McGrady spends $5,000 per month on a chef and $1700 on a housekeeper…..and he spent $16,000 on a birthday party for one of his offspring and 40 guests.

More signs of the apocalypse: Darrell Walker will be an assistant to Michael Curry in Detroit.  Free at last, indeed. Punk.

Keeping on the ex-Raptor vein, hey, how about good old Dougie Christie?? First he blogs about getting hosed in the playoffs, and now he is talking about it and thinks that a congressional investigation is in order.

Like him or hate him, Stephen A Smith always brought some fire and brimstone to the NBA Draft. Well, no more. He has been demoted to interviewing the drafted players. Wonder if he can still squeeze in a “the Raptors have made a huge mistake” line here and there? On the desk will be the professional (read: boring) team of Jeff Van Gundy, Mark Jackson, Jay Bilas and a hammerhead shark Stuart Scott.

Our Raptors are weighing their options as to whether or not to go big in this years draft. Says here that those teams that go big need to think long and hard about it. Pretty graphs, too.

Hollinger has released his list of big men he thinks will be the best pros. Time for BC to buy some ink for his printer so he can print this off and use it as crib notes.

And, hey, as we all know, the Raptors love them some foreign “talent”. Maybe they need to look at this article to remind themselves that ordering out isn’t always the best thing for your stomach.

Forbes has an article on the best-paid bench warmers. I had to be reminded that Raef LaFrentz is even still in the league.
