Raptors Roll Call March 31 vs Bobcats
Bargnani - the #1 pick with a whole lotta nothing. I see more effort exuded by a hungover college student getting out of bed at 6am on a Sunday.
Bosh - the #1 pick brought the hustle tonight. Tried a bit too hard in the third and early fourth, but no doubting the fact that his game on Okafor won this one for us. 32 and 8 in 46min.
Calderon - the man who is here thanks to Rob Babcock had a very off night. Kind of to be expected against two PGs that can probably run around him in a circle and still get past him into the lane.
Delfino - the #1 pick had an up and down game. Sure his stats weren’t huge (6 pts, 4 boards in 14min) but he was active and had a presence out there. He’s been playing much better as of late.
Ford - the #1 pick had his best game in recent memory. Mitchell left him in and rode the wave to great success: 16 pts, 7 assists, and that doesn’t even begin to touch the effort he played with.
Humphries - the #1 pick played with great hustle in the first half but was not even a blip in the second. Good to see him come off the bench so early and try to capitalize on his great showing yesterday. Have to wonder if the puppy wasn’t just a little gassed.
Johnson - hello Linton. Do you know Primoz? No? Linton…Primoz…Primoz…Linton. Please, enjoy each others company.
Moon - he is trying hard to re-acquire that “Super” label of his. Good solid showing offensively, but still lacking the skills to stick to his man or consistently help on the defensive end. 3 or 4 times he was seen just standing outside the paint without showing any effort to help.
Nesterovic - the #1 pick brought the pain again tonight. 14 pts/11boards all after picking up 2 quick Bargna…err..fouls. This is a solid showing especially considering his shooting was off, going just 6 of 14, missing some shots that have been automatic for him lately.
Parker - the #1 pick made a re-appearance as his old self took to the floor. Fired up at the refs, fired up at his teammates, and shooting .500 from the floor. 20 pts, 4 boards, 5 assists. He might be making himself a hot commodity for some summertime trade talk.
Driving the Bus: Chris Bosh
Under the Bus: Jose Calderon
Theme Song:
Love the theme’d player by player.
Was wondering if you could put the score somewhere in the blog, so I don’t have to go to nba.com to check?
Thanks.

Calderon would have held his own or been better than Felton.
Calderon was not the PG who should have been matched-up vs Boykins.
Nothing wrong with the Raptors playing Ford vs Felton (who has 0 Low Post game) or Boykins … but Calderon should NOT be on the court vs little Earl … unless, of course, the Raptors are playing some type of zone or combination D.

I agree, Khandor. Saw your post on Arsenalist in the early stages of the game, re: PG matchup.
However, Jose could have utilized his teammates better given that he couldn’t shake the little bugger.
Also, for the past few games, I’ve noticed he has gone away from his drives to the hoop, which is a shame.

Ha, #1 pick. Even Jack Armstrong last night was calling them first round picks. Chuck’s stuck in his own universe where Bargnani is a future Hall of Famer, Leo is a legit NBAer, BC can do no wrong and Maurizio is God.
Funny post.
