Raptors Roll Call March 30 vs Hornets

Bargnani - you know how you if you see a squirrel in the middle of the road, it looks around all somewhat confused as to where to go and what to do?

Bosh - you know how you used to get split up into teams during phys ed in school and you always hoped that one guy would be on your team?

Calderon - you know how your parents and teachers used to say to you that sometimes sacrifice is the key to a better future?

Delfino - you know how sometimes the perennial wallflower at every party you go to suddenly shows up one night dressed to the nines and bags one of the girls from the “it” crowd?

Ford - you know how whenever you go out with your boys, there is one guy that seems to want to do his own thing every time?

Humphries - you remember that old story about how the runt of the litter sometimes becomes the best of the leftovers?

Johnson - you remember how Primoz stepped up and wowed a city in his first night too?

Kapono - you ever hear about somebody you know getting paid the big bucks and then ending up working a lot less than you?

Moon - you remember playing house league and having that guy on your team that has all the talent in the world yet only steps up after his parents give him a good going-over?

Nesterovic - you remember that old teacher you had in high school that you saw on your first day and you thought “man, this guy is over the hill and won’t be able to teach me anything” only to later find out he has taught you the most?

Parker - you remember that guy that was on the social committee at school or work and even though he knew he was fighting an uphill battle to get his fellow team members to share his desire, he’d be the one to always remain positive?

  2. These are so funny, especially Bosh, Calderon and Nesterovic. You forgot to do Mitchell though, I’m waiting.

  3. Sam Mitchell - you know how in those old war movies where the veteran Sargeant who has done several tours of duty and survived because he knows HOW the game is played in this super dangerous environment AND has the RESPECT of every member in the squad BECAUSE he has been through every fire/storm imaginable, as a foot-soldier … doesn’t always say what you/they might WANT to hear but exactly what NEEDS to be said, at the right time … BUT who ALWAYS ends up dead by the end of the film … while the young Captain/Lieutenant in charge of the unit (with a Silver Spoon in his mouth/ass) learns his craft and lives to fight another day (undeservedly).

  5. Strange. Sam Mitchell always reminded me of the PBR captain in Apocalypse Now.

“You know how that fatherly commander is always looking out for his boys until one of the crazed tribesmen following a fat Marlon Brando jams a spear through his chest? That’s Sam Mitchell.”
