It’s January 24th & Scott’s saying….
…..I don’t know whether to laugh or cry as I listen to this. Please hold me.
mommy….mommy….that bad man scares me..!!!
Speaking of being fearful of high-ranking basketball officials, did you hear that Larry Brown sees scary people too? Come to think of it, other than Marbury being Marbury, through time you never really hear of Knicks players or management talking off the cuff. I blame Oprah.
Of course, now Marbury has lots of time to talk. Lots and lots of time.
Picture this. You are a smart dude. You can find your way around the ‘net pretty good, you have a ton of time on your hands, you come across the call-in number and date for a conference call about womens basketball. Did I mention you are probably 18years old and living in your parents basement watching Francine’s Fornication Forever on a loop on your DVD player? What do you do with this information? You would probably do this. Well played, sirs.
The buyout situation continues to get ink/blog attention. Personally, I still maintain that you sign a contract so you live by it, and that is for both sides. You don’t want to play for a team, fine: sit out and forfeit your pay until the end of your contract or until you are traded. You don’t want to play a player, you should still pay him. You signed him to the deal or traded for him, so take your lumps. Or, you do what the Raptors do and start the player.
You are a college player. You meet an NBA player. NBA player says "man, you gotta come to a game". You say "cool". He leaves tickets for you at the box office. As you pick them up and sign for them, you might be signing your college career away. OJ Mayo did just that. Now the NCAA will probably ask him to pay for the tickets as a "good will gesture". His coach is taking the heat. Of course, coach went 93-235 as an NBA coach, so he is used to heat.
Watching DJ Strawberry in Buffalo during the NCAA tourney made me sit up and take notice. Nice to see that he is finally getting some nice time and touches with the Suns. I really think he will be a breakout player next season.
Tim Donaghy’s sentencing has been delayed. I blame Oprah.
This has to be hard to read after playing a good game. Being referred to as the biggest disappointment in your draft class and being likened to drafting a Matt Bonner-type as #1 overall. Ouch. Then again, you didn’t pick yourself….that duty was left up to some other Don Cherry-collar wearing peanut.
Ever wonder why they don’t run a lot of plays for Jamario Moon? Maybe they do and he just forgets. Amazing.
I told you there would be a quiz. I just didn’t know it would be this hard. No mas…no mas…

Love hearing the podcast. Will be interesting to see how the Calderon situation is handled in the offseason.
As I said a long time ago (before TJ went down), we should re-sign this guy before his value goes up. Whoops!
Don’t even get me started on the “I knew ROY would be rookie of the year but Bargnani is Italian and we play in a different market in Toronto” crap.

I like how BC always gives credit to Rob Babcock every time Calderon comes up.
