His Spanish teammate, Calderon, thinks the media is making too much of the whole situation and not enough attention is being paid to Garbajosa’s welfare.

“I love the Raptors and I love Garbo,” Calderon said. “Everything is going to work out. Now we just have to take care of him.”

Chris Bosh said he had no problem with Garbajosa playing for Spain this year.

“It’s different over there,” Bosh said. “It’s different when you’re playing for your country. They have a whole different pride about it. They’re overall camaraderie with their teams and the way they look forward to it every year. Then the EuroBasket was insane and I’m sure he was waiting on that a long time. It’s a different mindset.”
