“Dufflet and I saw the article in the Post, and we love our cakes and we love our business, and we thought, hey, we can’t leave this like this,” Ms. Bertrand said.

“Everyone who knows me and knows the love we have for the Raptors all called me up and said, ‘Did you see the article? What are you going to do about it?’”
Ms. Bertrand and Ms. Rosenberg have arranged with the Raptors to bring cake to the team’s practice on Tuesday.

Ms. Rosenberg promises there will be enough to serve Mr. Mitchell, the team and the assembled media covering the practice. “We want to bring a whole spread,” Ms. Bertrand said.

But will Ms. Rosenberg be able to satisfy the head coach’s cravings? Mr. Mitchell was very specific about what he’s been looking for in a piece of chocolate cake: “Just a plain old chocolate cake with yellow cake mix,” he said.
Ms. Rosenberg promises she will specially make several varieties of chocolate cake, all with Mr. Mitchell’s taste for simplicity in mind.

“There’ll be no mousse,” she said. “We do have a cake that I think would please him, but nonetheless we’re going to replicate whatever that yellow cake might be.”

And while chocolate will be the star of the show, Ms. Rosenberg says she will be bringing several other types of cake for the players. “It’s the kind he likes best,” she says of chocolate, “but it might not be everyone’s favourite.”
