Part of the reason for starting the season with only five wins is the influx of new rotation players. Last fall the Raptors were slow getting out of the gate because of Bryan Colangelo’s overhaul of the roster and this fall the team has three new rotation players in Jason Kapono, Carlos Deflino and Jamario Moon. While all three of these players are proving to be valuable additions to the team it’s requiring an adjustment period as these three players affect the roles of others on the team while also getting adjusted to playing with new teammates.

Also adding to the confusion this season is the team trying to provide Andrea Bargnani with an increased role. This process has been a slow and painful one as Bargnani has often found himself in foul trouble which has limited the amount of time he can spend on the court.
