On a night of major defensive breakdowns, few were more glaring than Toronto’s utter disinterest in getting back in transition in the second half. Devin Harris and Jason Terry are quick, sure; but someone has to stop the ball until the rest of ‘em hustle back to defend.
In one glaring moment, Andrea Bargnani had an entry pass knocked away at the offensive end, spent a few seconds being downcast and ticked and then let DeSagana Diop beat him to the other rim by about 15 feet for a dunk. Diop runs like an almost-50-year-old sportswriter. Him beating other bigs down the court by that much is inexcusable.
