Whoa Nellie, high praise

The irony of the situation is that both Ford and Calderon are completely fine with the arrangement as it is — Ford starting with Calderon coming off the bench. While Ford has normally finished as well, coach Sam Mitchell has not been adverse to leaving Calderon in for crunch time when he’s having a particularly good game like he was against the Indiana Pacers on Friday.
One would think the package deal which gives the Raptors among the best point-guard production in the league would settle the issue, but that doesn’t seem to be good enough for the Raptors faithful who are determined to pick one over the other.
If the fans don’t see that logic maybe they’ll take it from the Warriors’ Baron Davis, a top-flight guard in his own right.
“They spread the court and they really share the ball,” Davis said of the Raptors. “We are in a catch-22, either we let T.J. Ford get off or let Bosh get off. T.J. had a wonderful game, he did all he could to keep them in it.”
