Solid night from Spanish tandem leads Raptors to victory
The Raptors had to survive another slow start that saw them finish the first quarter down eight points before they turned to their second unit to create some offence and climb back in the game by halftime.
Led by Jason Kapono’s nine points, the backups contributed 29 points before the break, mostly in the second 12 minutes, and had Toronto back within three as the teams went to their dressing rooms, 56-53.
Especially positive for Mitchell was the play of Carlos Delfino, who came in to hit a pair of three pointers, pick up a block, take a charge and grab a nice defensive rebound.
Bosh had a strong first half, contributing 15 points and a pair of rebounds in the first half, 11 of them from the free throw line as his inside presence forced the Pacers to get physical.
