Naturally, after every such game there are always the “Bosh sucks” and “Boozer >> Bosh” chant but as I’ve always said, one needs to take a step back and see Bosh for what he is: A good player who can help this team win given proper coaching and instruction. He is NOT a franchise player but a good forward who can thrive in the right situation. If you’re expecting too much of Bosh, it’s your own fault, you’ve just bought into the media hype. So where do we go from here, 4-4 with a bad home record and two wins against the worst team in our division and one against a team that’s struggling worse than Damon Huard (KC Chiefs reference). If the season so far is a microcosm of things to come, we should prepare to fight for the eighth spot and suspend any talk of this being the nucleus of a contender. At best we’re the poor, AIDS-inflicted, homeless man’s Phoenix Suns except we can’t score when we need to and shoot about as consistently as Bruce Bowen hits FTs.
Think the only thing missed here is another game where TJ manages to put up 5 more shots than anyone else, while continuing to hit at a dismal percentage. I don’t know how many times it has to be proven that Calderon is a better and more efficient floor leader, but I guess they’ll figure that out when they actually want to succeed.
Part about Bosh is on the money, I felt sick to my stomach last year when media-fed fans started chanting MVP game after game. Honestly, Toronto fans still know nothing about Basketball for the most part. An MVP doesn’t jack up off balanced 15 footers time and time again when the game is on the line, instead of just attacking the basket, especially after finding success doing so consecutive trips down the floor. This is all referencing their playoff loss to the Nets last year of course. So it’s what you said: he’s a good player who can help his team win given the proper coaching and instruction. But that’s about it.
To Colangelo (ya I know I’m just dreaming here): Pack up the Raptor ego’s (Ford and Bosh), ship them to Memphis for Gasol (’nother Spaniard), Conley JR, and a 1st rounder.
