When practice ended at the Air Canada Centre yesterday, Raptors coach Sam Mitchell grabbed rookie Jamario Moon and marched him right through a media throng and out the door.

The message was: No interviews with Moon today.

“The kid has played two games. Leave him alone,” Mitchell said. “Let him have a chance to absorb it. He has got enough to worry about with me and the games. He don’t need to worry about you guys, trying to ask him questions that don’t make any sense.”

Mitchell has become irritated, feeling the Toronto media has made Moon out to be the second coming of Michael Jordan. And the last thing the coach wants is for Moon, who has become the big story in Raptorland, to become overwhelmed. Or worse, start believing his own hype.
