UNDER NO ILLUSIONS
In the first week and a half of the season, the Raptors will have played seven games and taken six flights while practising just four times. This week, the Raptors have two sets of back-to-back games, with travel between all four games.
Mitchell has maligned the lack of practice time, a situation he said concerned him even before the season tipped off. Now, in the midst of four games in five nights, the lack of practices is showing.
“You look at this week, we don’t have a practice,” Mitchell said before tip off. “We have three more games.”
Mitchell said his team needs to start setting better screens and must space the floor better to improve its offence.
But with no time to practice yesterday, and with no desire to review game tape from a 112-85 thrashing in Milwaukee on Tuesday, Mitchell had to make his points without the traditional coaching aides.
