Doug and Jackie Christie on Women in the NBA

ESPN - Doug and Jackie Christie on Women in the NBA - TrueHoop
Doug and Jackie: Our take on the trial that involved Isiah Thomas was that he is innocent, as we were in Toronto with him for a while. He is the utmost professional. He is a kind person. Very high integrity man. He has a beautiful family and always encouraged the team in Toronto to include their families. From what we read of the trial we strongly believe in his 100% innocence and stand behind him.

And yes, we do feel women, as well as men, should always be treated with dignity and respect and we talk a great deal about this in our book. We want to see all people treat each other in the best possible way.

  1. I’m in the midst of trolling Jackie over on hoopshype, where she has a blog dedicated to rehabilitating her reputation as just another borderline sociopathic wife:

  2. whatever granville you hater her blog is cool and she has no need to rehabilitate anything as she is a good person and those of us who knows her and not the lies and rumors that come from the haters and jelous people we all know her integrity also the integrity of her husband and their solid marriage!

  3. How strange that the few that pass for “Jackie supporters” almost always claim people are jealous of a fairly average — possibly, for a few years, above average — pro athlete and his battle axe of a wife.

Seriously, if I was going to be jealous of anyone it’d be people that were, y’know, “successful”, to say nothing of “not batshit crazy”.

  4. I’ve relayed this story before, but I always remember lining up with my then-girlfriend to get Doug’s autograph when he was with the Raptors. For some reason, she was a big fan. Anyway, this was at ACC before a game and he was surrounded by security…..and his wife and kids. Not surprisingly, very few females were in line, but once we got to the front, Jackie immediately tensed up and looped her arm through Doug’s. For every other autograph ahead of me (that I could see) Doug made eye contact and a little bit of smalltalk, but with us, he never looked up, never said a peep, signed the poster, pushed it toward us and security bellowed “next”. It was the coldest “official signing” I have ever seen.
