Ryan McNeill of HOOPSWORLD had a chance to chat with Raptors assistant coach Alex English during the Raptors media day and discussed his hopes of eventually becoming a head coach, talks about what it was like to transition from being an NBA All-Star to an assistant coach and he explains championship aspirations for the upcoming season.

This summer I heard that you had some interest in becoming a head coach at some point. How’s that progressing for you?

I am just following the process and waiting my turn. I’m not trying to get out of here, I love being here in Toronto. I enjoy working with Coach Mitchell. We have a great group of coaches. But, one day I would like to be a head coach and run my team.
