http://www.thestar.com/Sports/article/264763These guys are used to opulence when it comes to road accommodations but the place they’re at here in Madrid might take the cake. The Raptors’ team buses arrived at their Westin Palace Hotel digs with a full sirens-blaring police escort, and perhaps 100 people waiting to greet them. Police stopped cars so their vehicles could make a U-turn at Plaza de la Cortez.

Inside the hotel, just down the road from the old city of Madrid, is not only one of the grandest lobbies around, but the bar is situated smack dab in the middle of an art gallery. And we’re not talking dogs playing poker. This is serious art. Even to a visitor staying up the street at a much more austere locale, the staff couldn’t have been more professional and helpful. Imagine the players, coaches and entourage will have every whim catered to quickly. And efficiently.
