The entourage that’s travelling with the Raptors through training camp includes several players’ family members and coach Sam Mitchell thinks it’s great that they’re along for the experience.
The coach is happy with the workload his team has been able to handle amid the myriad public appearances they’ve had to do and he’s encouraged everyone to spend as much off time as possible with wives or mothers and fathers.
After all, this is not a typical trip.
“I had training camp in Waco (Texas) when I played with Indiana Pacers … but I didn’t have a long list of buddies knocking on my door saying, `Can I come to Waco with you?’” he said.
“This is a once-in-a-lifetime experience.”
