Grange: It seems most of the objections stem from your view that it’s unlikely that so many of the Raptors who had career-best or near career-best seasons last year can do it again. Yet most of their core is young enough that it would be a surprise in they aren’t still improving, wouldn’t it?

Hollinger: That’s kind of the ying and the yang of when you have guys in their early-to-mid-20s who make sharp improvements. Was it because they were over their head, or because they’re just getting better? But if you look at guys like Boris Diaw and David West, who made huge improvements two years ago and were still young, a lot of those guys take a step back the next season.

Big picture, if I was a Raps fan I’d at least be cognizant of the possibility that guys like Ford and Calderon (especially) might not hold on to the huge gains of a year ago; actually Kapono wasn’t there a year ago but he’s in the same boat.
